Trauma Based Training/Sexual Misconduct/Mandatory Reporting
We would like to start by saying thank you for serving the families who call Faith Family Church home by loving and caring for their children. This is a huge blessing for the families and the children.
Faith Family Church has always gone above and beyond when it comes to protecting children. Recently, our insurance policy has issued new requirements for all staff and volunteers who work with children and/or vulnerable individuals. In order to remain compliant with the insurance requirements, there are several new procedures that the church, childcare and school will be implementing.
Insurance requires us to do additional screening and annual training on the following topics:
Mandatory Reporting
Abuse Identification and Trauma Based Training-JULY 12 - After service (Mandatory)
Prevention Policies
State Mandated Reporting Training
Sexual Misconduct Policy
For Faith Family Church staff and volunteers that work with children or vulnerable adults, we will have our first annual mandatory Abuse Identification and Trauma Based Training Sunday, July 12 after service. We will be providing lunch.
These types of training are not only required to meet insurance requirements, they are best practice in helping provide staff and volunteers the best tools to not only care for children and vulnerable adults, but also to protect both children and staff/volunteers. Ephesians 4:11-12 states "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry." These trainings are a part of equipping you, the saints, to do the work of ministry.
Due to the mandatory nature of the trainings, in order to continue serving, staff and volunteers must attend this first training. We will be working on developing future trainings and will keep you notified.
