Perhaps the most fundamental thought about who God would be that; God is.
When a person concludes that ‘God is’ every perspective of this life changes.
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1-2
Talk about having friends in high places… Sometimes you hear people speaking about living in an exclusive gated community that is beautiful and secure. The Lord has prepared such a place for each of us. It comes through an abiding relationship with Him. You don’t have to live continually in the 23rd Psalm valley of the shadow of death; you can choose to live under the shadow of the Almighty.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Mark 13:31
Anything you can see with your eyes will one day be a forgotten pile of dust. What will be remembered is not the bread, but sharing of that bread.
For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:8
The great coaches always believe in the players more than the players believe in themselves. Because they know where they want their players to get to, they set the standard high, but within reach. God sets his standard high, but within reach. Some of the wonderful things of God only come by asking, seeking and by knocking. If you really want it, be determined and keep knocking.
“For I am the LORD who heals you.” Exodus 15:26
God said, “I am Jehovah who heals you.” Jehovah is the name of the supreme God, the self-existent one – The “I Am”. Jehovah is the covenant name of God. We could say it like this, “For I am the Lord of the covenant who heals you.” Covenants don’t depend on whim or emotion. They are sealed promises, and just as salvation is not fickle, temporary or dependent on feelings, so too is God’s covenant as Healer.
